The La Sportiva TX4 Mid hiking boot sits at the more technical end of hikers. Its perfect for those people who love scrambling over rocks, like climbing steep tracks, or for a robust approach shoe for climbing. With many cues borrowed from the La Sportiva TX4 approach shoe, the mid version not only gives a rise in the ankle, but also beef's up the support in the sole and around the heel and gives a little more cushioning. The Gore-Tex lining obviously makes it waterproof but also makes the mid version more viable for those hiking in colder climates as well.

I’ve just worn out a pair of GTX Stream boot, the upper has begun to perish after 1000km. I’m wondering if there is a defect policy with La Sportiva and would these TX4 be a more robust boot for my hiking, sometimes carrying 12kg?
La Sportiva have a great warranty policy, https://www.sportiva.com/returns-and-warranty Please send some photo's through of where the shoes have worn out to us with a proof of purchase and we can pass it along to La Sportiva to assess if this is a manufacturing fault or general wear.
The Stream GTX is a Fast and Light hiking boot with a lightweight synthetic upper and because of the light weight materials use it may be more senstive to rough conditions whereas the TX4 Mid is designed as a protective approach boot and features a more durable suede leather upper so under the same circumstances you would expect it to be more durable.
