Staying with pure New Zealand merino wool (with 3% Lycra), the upgrade is in the zoned paneling - three distinct fabrics are stitched together in this garment to provide exactly the right amount of warmth, breathability and moisture wicking for the correct torso areas.
- The chest and shoulders are engineered for warmth
- The upper back and underarms made from eyelet merino mesh that has been designed to increase breathability and moisture wicking
- The lower back, elbows and lower arms have been made with an abrasion resistant waffle knit merino
In addition, the collar zip adds extra ventilation, flatlock seams prevent chafing and the thumb loops prevent the sleeves from riding up when cosy in the handwarmer pockets. All in all this is an excellent layer for winter sports such as skiing, mountaineering or alpine hiking, or just hanging out under the northern lights with a mug of hot cocoa!
